Support Worker Position Description
Overview:
As a Support Worker at Time Australia Support Services, you will take a person-centred approach to ensure the emotional, physical, social, and cultural needs of our participants are met.
Acting as an advocate for the elderly and individuals with disabilities, you will promote their dignity, independence, fulfilment, and privacy.
You will foster trusting and professional relationships with participants and colleagues.
You will strictly adhere to statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as Time Australia Support Services’ policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist participants with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Support with light household tasks, including cleaning and laundry.
- Prepare meals and beverages tailored to participants' dietary needs and preferences.
- Provide meaningful social engagement and emotional support.
- Help participants with daily activities to ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being.
- Facilitate community access and engagement in activities.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid and current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid Driving Licence.
- Comprehensive Car Insurance.
- Certificate III in Disability Support and Aged Care, or an equivalent qualification (or evidence of active enrolment).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Up-to-date COVID-19 Vaccination, including booster doses as per government guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in both aged care and disability support.
- A genuine passion and commitment to empowering individuals to live fulfilling lives.
